What kind of interventions do you offer at ProActive?
At ProActive we use a variety of tools, treatment techniques and interventions to get you feeling your best! These include core and pelvic floor training through targeted exercises and movements, manual therapy to reduce tension, breathing techniques to support deep core function, biofeedback, education, habit analysis, tips to incorporate into everyday life activities, and more!
How soon can I expect to see progress?
Although each person and each scenario is different, many people see significant progress within just a few weeks! Muscles take about 6 weeks to strengthen, but fascia tends take more time. Of course being diligent about doing exercises and applying recommended techniques can help things move along faster.
How should I dress when I come for a session?
Our number one recommendation is to dress however you're comfortable!
-
Keep in mind that sessions usually consists of lots of different movement patterns in various positions, so it may be optimal to wear a flairy skirt or leggings or both.
-
It is also easiest if you wear a top that gives easy access to the abdominal area (as long you're comfortable) so we can get a good analysis of core and breathing function. It is also preferrable that you wear a tight fitted and light colored top (such as white shell) for easy visibility of movement patterns.
-
Access to feet and toes is also advised, so socks, knee highs, or leggings are recommended over tights.
-
Sneakers are helpful.
For your convenience we have a room available for you to change, if you would like.
Do I need to do exercise at home to see results?
Absolutely! Our goal is to empower you, so that you can be the healer of your own body. We are here to guide you and walk you through what you need to do, but ultimately, it is up to you to carry through. Be prepared with a good dose of motivation and, of course, a positive attitude- you're hard work will pay off iy'H! We recommend spending approximately 15 - 20 minutes, 4 - 5 nights a week with the prescribed exercises. We aim to give you exercise that meet you at 'just the right level of challenge,' so that they are rewarding, but not overwhelming. It is also important to try and implement any techniques that are taught into your daily routine.
